Bit of aside but PealBase barcharts no longer seem to be maintained, which is more than a shame as they were very useful for showing trends. The above chart posted by Roger seems to go up to 2013. I think that the number of first pealers has fallen and recovered a bit since then.

We were looking at some family photos yesterday, some of them 50 years old or more. I wonder how many family photos being taken on smartphones today will be viewed by our ancestors in 50 years' time?

It would be prejudicial and inappropriate to assume that because an individual is young they would learn well and quickly or that because they are not they they won't. However you will have a job to convince me that the generality is not true.

We need some stats. Again.

I think we need a better profile of the 60+ age group of experienced and capable ringers to give us some idea of the expected rate of loss in the group. I think we imagine the profile to be a straight line but there might be something of a nasty bulge...

A cricket fans' forum that I am on has a numbered list of members, date of registration, date of last post and number of posts.

By CMO I meant a Central Membership Organisation. I think we are calling it a DMO (Direct) these days .

Fair point. How are we doing for horizontal communication? I imagine the librarians and steeplekeepers/maintenance have networks.; ART for teachers. Anything else have, or need, a bit of sideways liaison?

I think we could do with a broader thread on communication in general. I'll start one. Not sure where to put is as external communication would be under PR, internal would have to be under general. I'll put it under general.

I can find a "find by county" map but it would be slow going adding them up county by county...

How many registered ART teachers are there currently to whom referrals could be made?
