Why is it proposed to spend £8,000 of the 'limited' CCCBR funds (partially creating the reduction in funds / need for the Levy) on the Carter ringing machine in 2026?

Who will have interest in seeing the £6,000 'Carter Ringing Machine Film'? Very few?

Is the £6,000 really for a 'Film' of a 100 year old complicated machine? If yes, is that a priority versus increasing the number of active ringers?? Can the 'Film' be made by volunteers?

There are already very good youtube films of the amazing machine in use:

There is this detail on the machine:

    https://cccbr.org.uk/cashflow-forecast-model/
The cashflow forecast provided to explain the need for increased receipts has £500 expense in both 2024 & 2025, but £8,000 (£2,000 + £6,000 'Film') during 2026 re the 100 year old Carter Ringing Machine - which I understand is at Loughborough.
The cashflow assumes expenses from CCCBR funds are:
    a) Carter ringing machine: £500 in 2024, £500 in 2025 but £2,000 in 2026. (not clear why £2,000 in 2026?).
    b) Carter ringing machine film. £6,000 spend in 2026.Why is that a priority v new ringers?

I accept the machine is unique, complicated & should be cared for. Could any increased costs re the Carter Machine be funded from Lottery grants?

Yes, not the core function of the Central Council, and does not seem to contribute to the ambition for Ringing2030.

With modern communications we ought to be able to recruit supporters who can bring resources to maintain/publicise the machine. If not, then find a high shelf somewhere, so that it can be revived when interest and new supporters are available.
